Sundarbans Animal

The Sundarbans worlds largest Mangrove forest surrounded by rivers and creeks, an amazing world of bio-diversity, is the habitat of famous Royal Bengal Tigers and this is the place of the worlds largest reptile salt water crocodile.  Now recent I discuss Sundarbans salt water Crocodile. 
Crocodile:-Sundarbans divers fiora and fauna creats a unique ecosystem. The role of Crocodile in that ecosystem. Here are three types of crocodiles found in India. As wel as  1. Gharial 2. Mugger and 3. salt water Crocodile. Sometimes, presence of crocodilesin rivers becomes fearful for the people of the forest. Those who explore rivers of creeks for finishing offten become the pray of crocodiles. Crocodiles mainly feed in fishes. They feed on other animals too. Crocodiles keep the rivers clean by eating up the car casses of dead animals. The crocodiles can survivewith out food for about 7 days in times of scarcity. An adult male crocodiles are about 14 to 17 feet long. Adult females crocodiles are about 9 to 10 feet long. Being a reptile is controlled by external heat. In order to maintain body temperature during summer. They can remain under water for even 20 minutes with out breathing. They remain under water most of the time or rest under shades. During winter, they stay under sun to keep their body warm. This is called basking. Crocodiles usually live forf 50 to 70 years.
 There is Bhagabatpur crocodiles project in sundarbans. The project was started in 1976 at Bhagabatpur in 24 pgs (s) division. This is the salt crocodile project of West Bengal. We hope that the crocodile project will be made more attractive for the tourists in near future. If we search in google map we will find that Bhagabatpur is a little Island surrounded by the river saptamukhi. There are  "adult male,  female and their offsprings." Salt water crocodiles are nurtured in Bhagabatpur Crocodile project.
